Injectable treatments are not limited to the lines between your eyes. Did you know there are many lines on the face that develop as a result of animation?
Over use of some muscles create lines in the overlying skin, while volume loss and the descent of soft tissues create shadows. The most common treatment area for lines of animation are those that create the furrow between your eyebrows (the glabella), but that is just the beginning.
Patients ask me all the time, “Where else can you use injectables?” My answer is simple—any place where there are lines from muscle movement, or shadows resulting from volume loss is an opportunity to reverse or reduce the signs of aging.
I treat the muscles around my eyes (ocular obicularis) to stave off the development of crow’s feet; the muscles that raise my eyebrows (frontalis) to soften the horizontal lines on my forehead; the muscle on my chin (mentalis) to relax the orange peel appearance, and the muscle that pulls down the corners of my mouth (depressor anguli oris).
My biggest request from patients today is to not over inject them, and to leave them looking natural. That is the best news I have heard since I began injecting over 10 years ago!
I have always believed that less is more when approaching anti-aging. I certainly don’t want to look injected myself, so trust that I would never do that to you. I will refuse, even when the occasional patient asks.
That is my signature on your face when you walk out our door. I want people to look refreshed, not injected. I want them to feel good about how they look. After all, that is the whole point of this service.
We want to look as good as we feel. And feel as good as we look. It is true, that the reflection we see in the mirror does have an impact on how we feel about ourselves.
